One of the biggest problems of Iranian people is the high rate of energy waste in cooling, heating, and lighting systems, which on one hand increases the costs of energy generation and on the other hand solving this problem requires costly methods in order to increase the efficiency of energy consumption. What is more, this issue brings the complexity of energy source management for the government. This event has been highlighted with the population growth; also the limitations of energy sources has increased the importance of reviewing this problem.

Sedna has considered two essential solutions to reduce the use for 20% in heating/cooling systems. The first is to use different scenarios for the products' performance. Based on the 19th topic of Iranian national construction laws, which deals with the issue of being economical in energy consumption, the comfort zone in a building is heating and moisture conditions in which about 80% of the residents and users feel comfortable. On the other hand, factors such as heating degree day and cooling degree day, the definition of which is as below, are two important parameters to control an environment's temperature. In sum, an appropriate heating and cooling system is one that can make balance between the two parameters of heating degree day and comfort zone in cold season, and cooling degree day and comfort zone in the warm season, so that energy consumption in both cases remains optimal.
Based on this document, the necessary energy saving in buildings is determined by some main factors such as the building's use type, geographical classification, the useful building area, the city of the building, and the building's classification. Heating Degree Day

It is a unit based on temperature and time, which is used to estimate energy consumption and determine the heating load of a building during the cold period of the year. It is equal to the sum of daily average temperature difference in relation to 18 degrees centigrade, related to the period of the year in which the daily average temperature is less than 18 degrees centigrade.

 



Cooling Degree Day

It is a unit, based on temperature and time, which is used to estimate the energy consumption and determine the cooling load of a building during the warm period of the year. It is equal to the sum of daily average temperature difference in relation to 21 degrees centigrade, related to the period of the year in which the daily average temperature is higher than 21 degrees centigrade.
